Stop overdevelopment

I will propose legislation to enshrine the ability of municipalities to reject urbanization. Our towns currently have no legal protection against lawsuits for refusing overdevelopment. Traffic has become a worsening headache in our district, yet my opponent, the incumbent politician Costlow has not addressed overdevelopment since taking office two years ago. In 2026, he proposed 34 bills, none of which were on this issue, and zero of his 34 bills were passed into law.

Keep electric rates stable

Costlow, an ex-Ameren supervisor, voted to raise our electricity rates with SB4. SB4 overturned a 1976 referendum prohibiting energy companies from charging consumers for incomplete power plants. The Consumers Council of Missouri estimates that it will lead to average rate increases of $1,000 per year. I will vote to repeal SB4. My opponent is also a major proponent of data centers, which consume massive amounts of power and raise electric rates. I oppose data center construction in our local area.

Safeguard our seniors

I oppose Amendment 5, which would replace the state income tax with substantially increased sales and services taxes. It would worsen inflation and hit consumers and businesses hard. Just imagine the tax increases on house and car sales! Costlow publicly promotes Amendment 5 and has been dismissive of senior citizens who oppose it. I believe seniors on fixed incomes should be protected.

 

Promote family formation

The U.S. birthrate is below replacement level, threatening the economy and the nation. I will propose the Honor the Family Act to eliminate state income taxes on married people without criminal records who have had two or more children.

Stop the state’s slide into bankruptcy

Two years ago, I wrote that I was running because I didn’t want Missouri to become Illinois. Since then, our reserves have been almost totally burned through, and a debt crisis is now imminent in 2027–2028. Costlow voted for massive budget deficits in 2025 and 2026. I have fair and innovative ideas to cut the budget without punishing Missourians.
